Devi Treks is an initiative of young mountaineers born and raised in the mountainous area of Nepal with the aim to promote the mountaineering and tourism industry of Nepal. We look forward to providing the utmost satisfaction and adventure experience in the mountains along with the safety and security of our clients. The company is managed by Tanka Gurung along with his professional and experienced team members.
The team has extensive knowledge and management skills about mountaineering and trekking in Nepal, and Tibet.
Tanka Gurung – Founder/ Trip LeaderTanka was born and raised in Kathmandu. He belongs to the ethnic Gurung community and is a practicing Buddhist. Tanka first started working as a guide in 2008. In addition to holding a Bachelors Degree in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, he has done his Wilderness and First Aid course from SOLO wilderness medicine school. Since then, he began his career as a trekking guide and has trekked extensively throughout the Annapurnas, Everest Region, Mustang, Mera Peak, and Langtang Valley to name a few. He completed his tourist guide course in 2014 and has been working as a city guide or a tourist guide and in addition to being a highly competent guide, Tanka is a very friendly and easy going person. Most of his clients claim to have found a friend in him and likewise Tanka takes pride of the fact that he has friends from all over the world.
One of the youngest climbers in our team, Namje Bhote is born and raised in Hatiya-3, Sankhuwasabha, which is located to the eastern part of Nepal, the land of Mount Makalu (World’s 5th highest mountain).
Namja was one of the rope fixer from Base camp to the summit of Mt. Manaslu in 2019, he has already scaled the Mount Everest for 5 times, Mt. Manaslu 2 times and Mt. Amadablam for 5 times. He also about a decade experience in the mountaineering industry of Nepal therefore he is in our team for mountaineering expedition as a team leader.
5 times Everest summiteer Mr. Pasang Bhote is also born and raised in Hatiya 3, Sankhuwasabha, which is located to the eastern part of Nepal, the land of Mount Makalu (World’s 5th highest mountain). Pasang has 14 years of experience in the mountaineering expeditions; therefore he is one of the expedition leaders we have in our team. He has lead many successful expeditions in Nepal, beside Mt. Everest; he has scaled Mt. Manaslu 3 time and 7 times in the Amadablam.
