Everest Marathon with Gokyo Ri Trek

Everest Base Camp marathon with Gokyo Ri trekking is a trek for energetic and adventurous person. This trek is suitable to those who are in great health condition and love to enjoy the wonders of the Himalayas. Wide range of fascinating snow capped mountains along with the livelihood of people living in the Himalayas can be explored in this 23 days trekking.

On this 23 days Everest Base Camp trek, one can explore the iconic Kala Pattar breathtaking view while Namche Bazaar mesmerizes you with its history, culture and diversity. Away from the city crowd, you can explore wide glittering peaks including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori and Mt. Changtse.

You will have a marathon from the Everest Base Camp to the Namche Bzaar. After exploring the Himalayas, you can also explore the lifestyle of Sherpa community and get insider insight of rich cultural heritage of those people.

Detailed Itinerary

Note:

Cost defers on the facility.
The itinerary is changeable and modifiable

After arriving in Kathmandu(1350m), you will be welcomed by our office representative and transfer you to the hotel. Take your time to get refreshed and rest enough after hours of long journey to Kathmandu. Later you’ll be called to the hotel lobby to brief about your stay in Nepal.

The next day will be a day to look around the Kathmandu valley.  You can do the shopping around the city. In the evening, you’ll be briefed about the Everest marathon and all sorts of necessary information about the trekking.

You will have a fly to domestic airport of Lukla (2800m) from Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes. Then you will need to trek to Phakding which takes about 4 hours.

After having breakfast in the morning, the next day journey will begin from Phakding. You will have to walk for about 6 to 7 hours to reach to Namche Bazaar having an altitude of 3440m. You will have lunch and dinner as per the schedule.

The next day will be a full day in Namche. You will have a acclimatization trek to Everest view lodge from where fascinating view of Everest and other mountain can be seen. After enjoying the view you will return back to Namche Bazaar.

After having a day in Namche you will have to walk for about 5 hours to go to Dole. You will be having overnight in one of the lodge here.

A trek of about 4 hours will start from Dole to reach Machermo. Lunch and dinner will be as per the schedule.

The next day, trek of about 5 hours will start from Machermo to reach Gokyo which lies at an altitude of 4790m. Lunch and dinner will be as per the schedule.

Early morning you will have to climb to Gokyo Ri 5357m where you can view the Everest and other mountain and beautiful Gokyo lake. After the climb you will need to proceed to Thangnak which is a walk of about 6 to 7 hours.

You have to start trekking early morning crossing the Cho-la Pass of altitude 5368m. After passing Cho La pass you will have to trek down to Jongla(4830m). It will take about 10 hours to get there.

Enjoying the mesmerizing view of nature you will have to walk for about 7 hours to reach Dingboche with an altitude of 4350m. After the few hours walk you will be staying here overnight.

Early morning you will have to run to half way of Island Peak Base Camp and then return back to Dingboche and have rest.

The next day, early morning you will need to run to Amadablam Base Camp and then return back to Dingboche.

This is the third day in Dingboche. On this day you will have a short hike to Nagarjung. After hiking yo can have a rest day.

After getting rest you will have to walk for about 5 hrs to go to Lobuche with an altitude of 4910m.

You will have a trek of about 4 hrs to Gorakshep (altitude of 5180 m) and take lunch at Gorakshep. After having lunch you will be going to Everest Base camp(5360m). Here you can have closer look of Everest and return back to Gorakshep for night over.

Early morning you will nees to climb to Kala-Patthar (5550m). For lunch you will have to head back to the hotel and after taking some rest, you will be moving to Everest Base Camp with an altitude of 5360m. You will be camping in the base camp.

After breakfast you will need to walk around Khumbu Icefall where you can have magnificent view of Khumbu valley. Then you will have to return back to camp, take rest and start preparation for next day.

This will be the Marathon day. You will be having a marathon from Everest Base Camp to Namche which a total distance of 42.195Km. On the way, one of our staff will be waiting for you at Lobuche and another staff will be waiting for you at Namche. They will provide you hot and cold drinks.

It’s almost the end of the expedition. You will have to walk about 6 hrs to reach Lukla where you will be taking flight to Kathmandu back.

The next day if the weather is good enough you will have to take flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes. Then you will be transfer to the hotel where you can take rest.

You will have a full day rest in Kathmandu. You can visit the local markets and get souvenirs for your loved ones from Nepal.

The last day, you will be dropped to the Tribhuwan airport by our office representative or your guide.
